ITT let's give advice on how to start a business from very little assets

I plan on starting a business that deals with hardware, software, and security.

I need advice on many things that can be applicable to all start ups

How to advertise?
Can I overextend by offering too much product?
Should I rent a small place to do business or start off with just a website? Many of my skills require my presence so that could be hard. ..

How do I gain an audience if I were to blog/admin a website?

Better of starting from home imo. Your rent, bills are partly tax reducible then as well.

If your doing it all yourself yes, stick to what your good at then out source everything else.

How to advertise?
You can advertise online with facebook ads/google ad words pointing to a decent lead page.

You can also do offline advertising with flyers or go door nocking which is pretty low cost assuming your B2B.

Also join networking groups if your B2B
