Probably $5M. Bare minimum to quit job and do something else for income (real estate etc) is $2m

Not nearly enough.

>> No.21817452

>>21817284
Wrong, $5M is enough to buy a $1M house and still have $4M left over for passive gains.

You earn 4% of your principal per year in passive interest, meaning you would have $160K of passive income per year, more than enough to live very comfortably in any part of the country and support your wife and 4 kids.

30.

roughly 4 Million for the kids if you dont plan on sending them to college and not throw them out at 15. And for you, 5 Million. So to be save 15 Million

Does that include setting aside money to beat inflation? Real inflation is probably close to 6%, so to withdraw 4%for living expenses you need to be making 10%/year.

How the fuck is he going to live in the sea if he has 4 kids? It's hard even for one person to sail long term

That's fucked if it's actually the case. Source?

160k of passive income is not enough, for a family of 4

>> No.21818746

>>21818675
160k in a state like MS would put you in the very top of the middle class. That's plenty of money for a large family.

you know that you have to pay 30-35% to tax guy too. right?

I'll give you a true anecdote that may or may not convince you. My parents bought a house in NYC in 1995 for $250k. 25 years later that house is worth over a million dollars (we don't own it anymore sadly). $250,000*(1.06^25) = $1,073,000.
You can't base inflation off of the prices of staples foods because those are kept artificially low by farm subsidies and stores selling them as loss leaders. Look at real estate prices and health/car insurance premiums. Prices for those have been rising way faster than official inflation figures, at least here in New York. I can't speak for every town. People would be rioting in the streets if they knew how hard they were getting kkiked. I mean they are rioting now but for far more retarded reasons. Occupy Wall Street was intentionally derailed by all this identity politics garbage.

plebs call that inflation, patricians call it asset appreciation
