Pretty sure it doesnt even require users to do kyc to pay with BAT. Common uses are things like paywalls. Someone who is good at programming and github could explain it better, but the webpage displays a pay with BAT button. You click it and then verify the transaction and its auto deposited from your browser. A secret key is assigned on the back end so everything remains anonymous besides shipping address if needed.

I think the sku should potentially open up the ability for all sorts of things. Marketplaces, digital downloads, dapps, etc etc.

You are thinking of pic related. What you are talking about is the self service ad dashboard. It's similar to what Facebook and google have in their ad suite. Right now a lot of the advertisers are having to do phone in insertion orders with high minimum spend. The self serve dashboard increases scale dramatically, and reduces minimums. Now that brave is bigger they can do more localized ads as well and the ad system has a more semantic data based approach. Basically this means an ad for DWI attorneys will pop up in Oklahoma if you are in Oklahoma and searching for DWI attorneys. Self serve is already basically finished and being tested by certain advertisers.

The sku and publisher ads are a whole different beast. If I looked at the code right theres even a payment rail built into the sku to top up your BAT wallet. Overall it looks like rich is trying to push a web standard for anonymous payments. No more donation drive phone calls for years after you make a single donation etc. Because it's an open source widget developers should be able to make all sorts of applications that extend BATs functionality. You could potentially make millions if you can make a popular and niche BAT enabled web app or even starting an ad agency that focuses on brave ads. Look into the history of google and Facebook if you dont believe me.
