Tesla's current leg up is in precarious lofty position about the 50 day average. When things stretch this far out to the upside there is rubberband effect. Lumber continues its price gains with no relief in sight. Builders will pay any price to acquire it so when the inventory level builds and prices fall many builders will be left building with expensive material.

Buy Lumber Liquidators. People know that the prices are going to be high. They know that they will have to fork out more money for it.

But sometimes, just the simple case of acquiring the lumber is the big issue here. Mills curtailed inventory in fear of construction going down during COVID, then it boomed up. Replacing lumber inventory during a time of mass demand, is an extremely arduous task - especially when the supply hit isn't affected by things like forest fires, bug infestations across North America, but something like COVID-19.

It's going to take a demand drop for prices to come back down. But until THEN, lumber keeps going up. So go long on lumber and set a stop loss for -10% over a week or 5 day period. That's my only recommendation.
