I'll tell you what's interesting. The 10kg coins always sell out - straight away. And 1kg coins normally sell more than 10oz coins. There is some serious stacking going on and finding those large coins on the secondary market or as buybacks at dealers or whatever... is so incredibly rare. And the 1kg coins total oz amount is normally about double the 1oz coins. We are talking about Australian Lunar here. Even 10oz coins are hard to find... though they should be because there isn't much minted - though price is lower.

We are showing each other mostly 1oz coins and some of us have more than 1,000oz of mostly 1oz silver... but we are literal stacklets compared to those that stack 1kg and 10kg coins.

I've personally got some big coins but only because I was offered them a few years ago from a dealer as a buy back. It was something like 20c over spot - I was apprehensive at first because I thought such a big coin was a meme but I was super happy with the buy and been hunting them ever since.

The lira has been collapsing for years now. Before covid shut everything down I went there to shop since everything is way cheaper compared to where I am. Basically I bought 200 eur worth of clothes, which otherwise would've cost me 350-400 eur.

Last time the lira was in trouble people lost a lot of purchasing power, so now they're hedging. And they can't buy USD, since Erdoğan banned ti's pretty much, so the only choice is gold. Mine output at its current pace increases the supply of gold at roughly the same rate the world population is increasing, mining's not going to really dilute the price of gold much at this point. Undersea and subglacial mining could potentially change this in the coming decades, but even then Gold price responds more to Fed meetings than it does to new mines opening. I think Bunker Hill will be a fabulous mine down the line but they need a lot of work to get there. They need to plan out a mill, update existing infrastructure and a bunch of other details before they can start properly mining there again. The company could cut some of those corners if they wanted to just start mining right now with drilling on going, and shipping the ore to a nearby mill already operating but that has its own issues. Be patient, they will get going, its not like the ores going anywhere..

Smart friend, looking to move out. I am from Finland and it's far for perfect here although it's still currently very stable. If you look throughout history, you'll see that very rarely did societies use gold as everyday currency, that was the purpose of silver. The purpose of gold is as a store of wealth that holds its value, not as a money, so people value gold as a store of wealth. You have to remember that wealth is not a zero-sum game, and the amount of wealth that exists in the world today is constantly increasing, hence the need for an increasing supply of gold to store that wealth against external manipulation. Ideally the value of gold shouldn't fluctuate at all until either wealth stops being created or we've mined the last ounce.

Side note, some might argue that wealth inequality is increasing, but look at the difference between elites/rulers and common citizens/peasants throughout history and you'll realise that the truly rich are always those who rule or are buddies with those who rule; central banks are just the newest iteration of this.

Bolivia is interesting because they have a history of bullshiting companies not associated with the government. At least that was how it was last time i looked into anything going on down there. It's true what you say about the ruling class always being there, but it seems clear to me that the concentrated wealth and power they control grows exponentially as time advances. Most people here have it as the second most common tertiary diversification after Platinum (I'd say about as many people stack GS/Pall as G/S/Copp though); the reason why not many talk about it though, is because:
- First of all, lots of people here are stacklets who haven't even got the funds to even diversify into Gold

Guess which they're doing (in part, because attempting to fix/stabilise the economy would also crash it overnight)
So in essence, what they've been doing is simply (from a market point of view) increasing that amount of PMs in circulation, devaluing it and in turn supressing the price (ie THE JUST DUMPED $10T ON THE MARKET!). And it's also setting up an even bigger crash (better for us) come the inevitable day when - COMEX can't deliver on those IOU notes, because at that point, the entire house of cards comes tumbling down.

Only a small amount is delivered each month. Most of the market is just speculators and roll their positions before delivery. This happens in oil too. When they can't roll, and they are forced to take delivery in oil you see negative prices. If it happens in PMs and they cant roll because people are demanding delivery you'll see a moonshot. You have to realize they can also change the rules. In 1981 they changed the rules and crushed the market. This is a national security issue.

Alot of mints actually stopped refining silver. This is mostly just a shortage at the retail level. You can't turn around and immediately sell 1000 oz bars for profit. You need to refine it down to smaller bars

From what I have heard from at least one minter, they can't get wholesale bars in order to refine into retail products. They can't even get lists of bars. They are told they need to "buy" now, but don't expect a delivery until early next year. I believe the shortage is not at the retail level, but higher up the chain.
