positive rebases when the price is below a dollar would cause for supply to increase while price is low, decreasing the price more, causing a feedback loop, where the price would keep shrinking until it hit 1 satoshi and wouldnt be viable to trade anymore. If price were above $1 the same thing would happen where there would be a feedback loop making the supply lower, therefore increasing the price, until the supply is so low, that it cannot decrease anymore, which, depending on the project, would be like 10^-8.
