it's not about insurance, it's that the weather is essential to planning everything.
say you know it's going to rain next week for 3 days, so you hire 10 guys to work that week for the sowing, you get your equipment ready.
and the rain doesn't come, your fucked. you already promised these guys work, got them to come on site and now you can't do anything
not to mention if your using inoculants or other products that you put in the ground days before sowing. if it doesn't rain your screwed

Why don't they put other data onchain like soil quality, water quality, composting quality etc, so that you can charge extra for your crop because you can prove onchain verifiable that it was grown in the best conditions. Weight is a crap indication of quality.
