Try getting one through your bank. The one you’ve had a checking account and debit card with for a while.
My credit is for shit, but Chase gave me a loan for a car a few years ago and they just gave me a credit card.
If you use the credit card instead of the debit card you are building credit. Then you can get a credit card outside of your bank with a higher limit. Then you can max it out and default if you want and ruin your credit.
