You're right, this is pretty bad. Nobody sits down to determine the price. It's a market with bids and asks. I imagine if you are on biz, you are probably familiar with crypto. It's just like an exchange, except JP Morgan is a whale who manipulates the market with fake bids and asks and dumps to go stop loss hunting and then buys on the cheap riding the ups and downs and profiting both ways. That is...until recently when people actually started standing for delivery of the futures contracts. They are still manipulating the price though.

The paper I will be actively trading based on relative valuation. If there is another stock crash I will be selling a lot of paper metal to buy cheap stocks, and likely some of it to buy more physical. Any physical metal I will be holding basically forever as a hedge against complete collapse. If there is a true collapse, it won't really matter if I lose 70%+ of my 'paper' wealth; by relative wealth I will still come out way ahead simply for having SOME physical holdings (easily top 1%). Relative wealth is all that really matters. If I am able to translate some of that paper into physical as the collapse happens, even better.

Right now it's tanking pretty hard. If i were you i'd wait for the dip to bottom out, then when things are starting to crawl back up you invest in. That's what i'm planning to do with the rest of my cash, sadly i kinda bought the miners' top a week ago (hopefully it was just few bux, dipping a toe), but i want to buy more once it get cheaper. A lot of miners are still undervalued and didn't experience a boom in the same order of magnitude than the PMs.
Also if you aren't very well versed into it, as i am, i advise you to pick up well known names with solid grounds. Too many scams artists and meme juniors with 0 projects out there riding the gold&silver moon wave. Ask for Pan Man advices or if you want i can post his selection of miners.
