What does XSN do?

What was the original purpose of btc? To allow us to become our own bank.

Did BTC achieve that? No. It wouldn't scale. Too slow and expensive. Same with eth.

So what happened? People don't actually use crypto to transact. It's really just speculative betting game right now.

So what does crypto need to really allow us to be our own bank? It needs to be fast and cheap to use.

That's why eth and btc built second layer solutions (raiden and lightning) to allow for commercially feasible transactions that are fast and cheap.

The problem? Notwithstanding lightning and raiden, Crypto are still islands.

XSN created the bridge between those island using lightning and raiden. And that is just the beginning.

Imagine when their hardware wallet is released and you can pay a pizza in btc with your xsn, and the swap happens automatically.

I had a lot of failed TXs at the beginning of the DEX tests, and none of them resulted in lost funds. The worst thing that ever happened to me in LN is a channel that was forced closed, even then i got my funds back after 145 confs.

I am pretty sure it will be a lot faster, like all things initial tech is always the longest part, presumadely hydra is really just a public release of the maasternode code they are using themselves, shouldn't be anything much more than that. Plus with phase 1 out and the fees going to the team until hydra their funding should go up substantially, they've said they plan to use it to vastly increase marketing and publicity efforts. Of course the faster hydra comes the better. That's when I can retire after all, hopefully.

ive been testing the DEX for a year. back then it was lots of heavy spam tests with tiny amounts on XSN/LTC and it was a lot more complicated. once they got that down, replicating other LN pairs was easy and they branched out to ETH

to get to a beta product they had to literally build a totally new order book function that has never been even delivered as a proof of concept before.

to get from the beta to Hydra all they have to do is stress test and then replicate the single hub they're currently testing on to the Master Nodes.

it's the difference between research and design for a totally new product, and scaling production for that product.

once you've built the prototype/beta, copying it to a number of instances simply waiting for deploy is trivial.
