What is an index fund?

An index fund is a fund that can track a specified basket of underlying investments and in this case: BTC, ETH, LINK all balanced with STA.

The rules are that these coins are set in the fund at a specified percent so as one goes up or down the others are automatically bought or sold to balance risk and maximize profit. HOWEVER, the key is that STA is deflationary (whenever an STA transaction happens for buying/selling/pooling, 1% of the transaction of STA is burned). This token burn + tokens being locked in pooling pressures prices up to again make sure the other coins will be balanced. You also are given a % of all the fees paid in STA transactions up to 36% APY and during a run up to 40,000% APY.

The power of STA is that the ripple effect of: (1) compounded fees, (2) token burn, (3) price pulled up by ETH, BTC, and LINK leads to an exponential effect and positive feedback loop on price.

Can the team dump? No, this is the most decentralized token as the project much like BTC is out of Satoshi's hands, STA is out of the hands of the devs who only own <4%.

In short, Statera:

1. Increases positive price pressure and decreases volatility - caused by the deflation
2. Gives one token access to the ecosystem, price action of assets its pegged to, and benefits of arbitrage
3. Deflation can be put into any index fund (Balancer pool) or other financial instrument
4. Deflation rewards loyalty, if you get in early when supply is high, as supply goes down assets get more valuable
5. Diversification - You can hold many assets in the ecosystem
6. Passive income- make money while you hold your crypto (over 30% APY)

In simple terms the Burn function of STA is designed to create volume. In a way Statera discovered "Volume Farming".

not trying to FUD but volume is based on USD value, and as statera increases in price, the amount of statera burned daily with a given volume in USD is lowered. it's why almost 10 million STA was burned in the first month before burning slowed down. regardless, the ultimate point still stands, which is that the volume generated by pooling (and the ridiculously high APY statera gives in any pool) leads to accelerated burning which rewards participants on both sides of the statera ecosystem, holders and poolers. this is a no brainer inherently low risk 40x within a year at least.

the burn won't be as constant as 5% every month, I'd expect a lot extra got burned when the balancer exploit happened for example. The more volatile the price movement the more it burns.
Eventually, if it becomes less volatile more investors will consider it as a safer investment... and the price will appreciate... but probably won't burn as much then. Follow up on it in the coming months and you can probably get a more realistic number on how much it will burn.

I am trying to think of situations why it could fail and so far I can only think of other deflationary coins taking Statera's market share, it's a simple design after all. If the community promotes it fast enough Statera will be THE one index coin.
What needs to be established is the social consensus (like any other crypto) and more pool options along with better integration of the token on the index platforms (i.e being able to pool Statera directly on Balancer). I think the pools won't exclusively be on Balancer's platform forever.

it's worth noting though that within the first two weeks of statera, it was already down below 90M supply. so of the 15% that's been burned, 2/3rds of that 15% was burned in the first two weeks. i'm extremely bullish on STA but people need to factor in the principle that if there's a million dollars of volume a day, much less STA is being burned when it's at $5 than when it's at 3 cents.
