Recently listened to Back and Chaum on a recent the Unchained podcast, they talked about how the original design for e-cash didn't even take into account a gold-like sound money, it was much more focused on privacy and anonymity which in many ways bitcoin is a step down from e-cash (Chaum's shit). That they weren't even thinking of a distributed replacement for central banking until Satoshi Nakamoto came out of nowhere and released Bitcoin.

The guy who was involved in the cypherpunks who was obsessed with money creation, gold and wrote about hiding his identity as an online persona: Nick Szabo, created bitgold which is much much closer to bitcoin than Back's hashcash. The other thing is Satoshi can't be a brit, he's a Californian like Szabo. Satoshi fucked up early on and leaked his real IP in error logs he emailed to Hal Finney and his IP was in California (by the way the story of Craig Wright finding out about this in 2017 and having to change his original NSW ranch story is hilarious). It's fucking Szabo, no one else makes sense. No one else tries to change shit like his blog to actively obfuscate connections to them being Satoshi. Szabo dosen't want a bullet in his head from the CIA.

Szabo gets extremely uncomfortable when people ask if he's Satoshi and won't do interviews if any of the questions are about him being Satoshi, he's also Freudian slipped he's Satoshi on multiple occasions. Occam's razor, it's one guy. Also Satoshi's online posting times are American, if he was working with Back he'd be logging on at almost any time. Back bought Bitcoin above $100 off a normal exchange (either Gox or Bitstamp), and said he was kicking himself today for not just mining with Satoshi when Satoshi asked him by email to participate in 2009, even when Hal Finney got involved he just observed like a cuck. It took him a while to come around to BTC. Even on twitter Back talks about how he's trying to increase his BTC stack to try and catch up with early adopters, if he was Satoshi he'd have 1MM BTC and wouldn't even care.

why i think that the correlation between the real satoshi and anyone of the active cypherpunks is uncanny. the fact that satoshi couldn't resist in leaving the internet without a trace since releasing the document, his time spent too long writing under a pseudonym, his too often pleasures in writing in relevance to bitcoin and he still wanted to be a relevant actor in the space, not leaving it to true nature of open source. theres a critical trail in all his blogposts, forum posts, all in correspondence with any of the cypherpunks. thats why its not possible for each of the cypherpunks that are possible of being satoshi are just random followers to the idea, but because the real satoshi still stuck around and had a pervasive voice in their topics, they must have still been a diehard cypherpunk at heart, and not some random boris that comes along and invents a random thing for the first time. obviously the bitcoin was built ontop of preexisting ideas and it seems much easier to apply that to any of nick szabo, adam back, or even chaum or wei because they had the experience of all these surrounding ideologies in their mailing list
