I'm borrowing so much money to get one or more graduate degrees on grad plus loans while i invest my living costs in crypto and live with my parents. you can easily have 50k+ in crypto this way.

when this is all over, i just move back to my home country or work as an expat abroad and take advantage of a tax loophole that would make my payment 0 a month in perpetuity.

i dont think this is is too well known. Far more common is to become a fleeing expat after the fact out of necessity or hardship.

This also only works in a very specific set of circumstances

1. you are a citizen of the U.S and some other country, (unless you go the perpetual expat route). actually permanent residents from here but citizens elsewhere have it even better as dropping green card status is much easier than dropping u.s citizenship.

2. you need to accept the possibility that after a very long time, you may not be able to return to the u.s without legal risk, since a court order will prob be in place,and you wont attend it. there will be a warrant for your arrest possibly, but its unlikely that you they will send cops after you on an airport lol.

3. if you are going the crypto investing route, you can also be potentially doing tax evasion too, although this is tricky because you can forfeit tax residence pretty easily before selling your early retirement stack.

4. the main difficulty of this method is gringo parents that think you can pay for college on a gas station job at 18. The money you are saving is what you would otherwise put on rent , food etc, so you can get 20-30k or so per year. How much of that you can invest is up to you. But you need parents or friends willing to mantain you, out of altruism or financial wit.

maybe i missed clarifying this, but they are two things going on at once. You leave the U.S to lose all de facto power the gov can have to pursue you r debt.

but whether you abandon u.s citizenship (or green card) is not for student debt purposes but to avoid taxes on your crypto gains. You lose tax status when you properly abandon them. You will cash out, say your crypto portfolio in its maturity after the fact.

You do both things at once, if you are using your saved crypto money to invest and retire early. This is especially feasible if you are from a third world country that's cheaper to retire in.
