Working with engineers is light years better than working with architects and designers. Engineers are at least grounded in reality and don't think that just because something's drawn on a blueprint, or they because their modeling program can do it, that means it's law (or even physically possible).

It's easier to talk reason into a brick wall than an architect. I actually had to explain to one that no, you can't just put a 50000lb HVAC unit (for a warehouse that is essentially a giant freezer) on a roof without heavily reinforcing the deck. He didn't want to "change the look of the building too much". ITS A FUCKING WAREHOUSE! No one cares if there's some extra beams running in the middle. The engineers for the project just laughed and drew extra beams into the drawings

My school had several programs for interdisciplinary learning, in large part to force retards like you out of their bubbles. CompSci, almost did enough bio to major in that too, but i found the polysci classes were too fun so I stuck with them instead.

No, just that there were classes, including ones with upper division science credit, which were interdisciplinary. A lot of the science ones were science + something else. The idea is to have well rounded students able to apply their knowledge in any situation.
