I'm a poor student, and apart from not having capital, there's one big reason why I'll never invest in stocks. It's because I have the IQ to realize that investing is a zero sum game. To have a winner there must be a loser. People join in thinking "I'm gonna be the smart one who wins", but this is just the overconfidence and delusion of the low IQ individual. If the guy wins by random chance, it further amplifies his delusions.

After realizing this, there's no way I could join the game. The game wants more losers and tries to suck in people like me. You want me to gamble with my student loans so you'd get that 3rd Ferrari this month.
You can try to pretend I'm wrong all you want, but this is the ultimate redpill on investing.
There's no such thing as money for everyone. Prove me wrong. Prove to me that there's a form of investing where everyone is guaranteed to win.

It's a combination of increased money supply and decreasing supply of shares people are selling which pushes valuations up. The stock market's value is based on momentum so if someone big dumped then yes you might end up with a loss for everyone else, but a dump of that magnitude wouldn't be smart for the whale because of the rapidly decreasing demand. Yes the stock market is far detached from actual valuations at this point and it's basically like playing a crash gambling game holding on to see if you can be the one to sell the top while everyone else faceplants. In that scenario you end up with more losers than winners, not a zero sum game.
