One issue I've found is that new buyers have a way of just watching the price ticker in an app or refreshing coinmarketcap, rather than keeping things in perspective with charts kept at appropriate timescales. There's a LOT you miss or can imagine is happening with just watching the price and without knowing how to read a chart. I know new traders who fit this exact bill. They see the price ticker going up in some phone app or CMC and they get overexcited by movements that they would realize are actually tiny percentage changes if they had been looking at a chart. Conversely they might see the price ticker butting up against a certain number and call it a critical resistance and announce that the rally is over, meanwhile it turns out the asset isn't rallying at all in the first place and the price is actually just in a sideways consolidation channel or something.

The point is that some rely heavily on intuition looking at a price ticker and have no idea how to read a chart. And when they do start using a chart, they'll use some bullshit like 5m candles to "really get a sense of the movement." I'd say the bulk of my own development as a trader has been in learning to keep proper perspective and ignore my emotions and instincts. Always making decisions based on larger timeframe charts, not freaking out about short term movements that are inconsequential, or seeing when something is really dumb and bearish in the larger picture, like a super drawn out overinflated rally. Some perspective: It's amazing how new traders think a 100% gain in an asset in the span of one week is bullish as hell.
