There's some pretty big difference between the dotcom bubble and the time we are in now.
Tech isn't speculation on how we think businesses will operate it is the status quo for business operation. What we are seeing isn't a bubble it's a transition from old to new.
Even your top industrial companies all rely on cloud computing, micro processors, and automation.
Tech will always go up because in boom cycles there is massive growth and expansion and tech is there to supercharge it. In bust cycles tech is not affected so people divest and tech also provides automation solutions as well as work from home options like we are seeing today.
Make me an argument on why tech is a bubble and going to pop.

You need enough to buy 100 shares of something. So like, $1000ish for small stuff and $10000ish for bigger stuff.

You'll also want a little extra to cushion you in case the price goes up and your shares get called away, so you can buy back in. People will try to say you should just sell cash-secured puts at that point, but the further the price moved past your sell point the less valuable the premium becomes, eventually leaving you stuck in basically a cash position. At that point you'll either have to add money anyway, or pick a lower-priced stock to write against.

Yup. All priced in, this is why the stocks are down anywhere from 60-90%. Those companies sold assets, did layoffs, cut hours, etc.

This is also why anytime there's updates or talks about stimulus they pump and easy 20% on just the rumors like it did last week. Nothing was passed and they all spiked.

Once the actual stimulus kicks in, it'll spike an easy 50% just like it did last time but unlike last time, they have plans and have revenue coming in. Last time they had zilch.

Canadian here.

Looking for nice safe ETF's to invest 1-2k a month into for long term wealth growth over the next 5+ years

( already own a house so I'm just looking for somewhere to put my money to protect from inflation)

Its going into a TFSA until i max out the contribution room, so they must be TFSA compliant.

I was looking at TSX:XIC to start because it has ok growth and pays a decent 3% dividend.

Anyone else know any good TFSA compliant ETFs?

>99.7% of samples are within 3 sd

>The odds of price ever reaching beyond 3 sd is very slim. And if it does, you should know that it is definitely at an extreme and the buying/selling opportunity could almost be too good to pass up

anybody ever fuck with this standard deviation channel thing before? looks really interesting putting it on a 1m chart with 2 days worth of data. gonna do some paper trading with it this week, also gonna see how the /ES moves when it opens soon compared to the levels. im wondering how reasonable of a strategy it would be to, say, buy/short at the 1st SD, then double the position if it gets to 2 SD, then double once more at 3 to finalize the position size. or maybe just buying 3 equal size positions at each point, but it should be incredibly rare for price to move to 3 SD's. fun with math i guess, just wondering if anyone has worked with this shit before, probably not but looks intriguing at least. if i make money with it this week i'll let you guys know.

It assumes a normal distribution for price which is bullshit. Your average also has a lag of length/2 because it's asymmetric due to a lack of datapoints. Bollinger bands do exactly that. average +- 2* stdev.
