Real talk though, start simple with stashing and getting data out of the blockchain. Understand how you have to format it and break it up while properly indexing it for retrieval.
Don't follow guides about creating tokens it is mostly trash.
Spin something novel up on ipfs with web2 compatibility with an Infura fallback hooked into ropsten. Start small and work up from there.
Truffle is your best bet for actually deploying contracts right now, but make your frontend and calls to your contracts from scratch in its own space. Use Vue or react to start with or go super custom depending on your needs.
