yam devs asked for donations to do an audit on the contract and launch yamv2. it got over 100k within 7 hours i think. i see several donations for 30k, 20k, 30k, etc from individual people. i assume they made a fuckton of money and really believe theres a future in yamv2

i got burned by buying the top of comp but oh well, still got my yams

I doubt most people even check the websites out. They just follow whatever "100x guaranteed returns sirs" uniscam link they see. I don't feel bad for them though, because they were only in it to leave someone else holding their bags. Scammers deserve to get scammed

>> No.21428244

>>21427920
OK so, the YAM token was an attempt to combine all DeFi memes into one coin. You had rebase from AMPL, yield farming from YFI and an emoji logo. People went apeshit. Not even 24 hours into it, the dev discovered a "bug" in the contract that caused way too many yams to be minted on the first rebase. They couldn't change the contract without governance so they ran a little campaign for people to delegate their yams before the next rebase. But surprise surprise the fix didn't work and now the coin will slowly inflate into oblivion. By the way make sure to send us funds so we can develop YAM 2.0 :)

>> No.21428355

>>21428244
Oh, so it's pretty much accepted the devs scammed and dipped? Or are they going to continue on with a V2? I am glad I didn't try to get on that shit. I got burned on a couple uniwswap tokens when I first started using it - XIO and ESH made me lose $600 between the two of them. Super fucking gay.

It's too big to fail now. People sent over 100k for YAM 2.0 to happen. Maybe it was just actual incompetence but the whole thing is very fishy.

I was feeling bad about this month's trades. Sold STA early, bought into a coin that didn't pump, watched Statera 5x despite holding for months. Went in on YAM at 100, sold at 75, watched it hit 150 the next day. I'm in FLOW and it's pumping, but I can't imagine if I'd stayed in YAM. Dodged such a bullet. F
