The point is that many of the massive industry players like smart contracts, they just don't like the part where they are unable to change things if something is fucked up.

So for many of the industry players(at the very least in the mind of the boomer) it makes sense to "somehow run a private smart contract platform". Now leaving whether that is possible, feasible, something you or they would actually want alone: they realise that a smart contract needs a way to interact with the real world.
Suddenly there's chainlink, providing a feasible, practical solution to the oracle problem, even allowing the old industry players to participate directly by running their own node/network of nodes.

It doesn't matter whether they use ethereum or whatever kind of shitcone or even a private chain. They will have to use link to get around the oracle problem.

I have no idea man, I'm going crazy trying to figure it out too. What's nuts isn't just 'who is buying' it's 'who ISN'T selling'. Like, all the whales with huge amounts of supply aren't dumping even though they are up >1000% on their stacks? If they were trading it, now would be the time to just murder us. But the big players that accumulated are still holding them, most likely to actually use as collateral in the network when staking is live. Obviously they've done the math and figure the value of link as collateral is even more than the insane profits they could make by selling right now. So yeah, I think this price action is pretty strong evidence that behind the scenes there is a lot more coming. I'm thinking more and more that Smartcon is going to be crazy.
