you should be happy to live in a well functioning state that cares for its citizens, OP. you barely even need to "make it".

>tfw not german where you pay no gains if you held the asset a year before selling, and the autobahn for your lambo.

My current plan is to keep at least 10k for staking and live off the passive income, banks won't notice if you cash out in small amounts. But buying a house will be a problem. May have to just bite the bullet and pay CGT for that.

Wait, really? I'm in Belgium and I've spent all day reading up on this stuff. I thought zero tax only applies if it's a 'normal management of private assets' thing and basically any volatile asset doesn't count. Otherwise 33% tax. And I didn't read anything about the one year thing.

Only if you earn income from staking, OR sell appreciated assets within 1 year. Holding for longer than a year means they're long term capital gains and are taxed at that rate.
I'm not 100% sure but for stocks, qualified dividends count not as income but capital gains if you've held for more than year. same might be true of crypto.

Would unironically consider it

>>21316702
Shouldn't matter, if you're disposing the asset straight from LINK->EUR. As long as you have the etherscan to show you've held it for more than a year you should be all good.
