Because 99% are. There are like 5 use cases in total for blockchain currencies and only the best of the best protocols are picked up
Bitcoin is the payment protocol
Ethereum is the generalized blockchain protocol
The rest is under question. They might not even need to exist. Link is trying to go for the decentralized oracle. There is proof of humanity there too which being competed for with pnk and Idena
The rest of coins are either competing for a existing use cases or trying to make new ones. That’s extremely hard
