Can I get a quick rundown for those who were around for this, was this the exact moment everyone lost confidence?

>> No.21299465

As he was preparing to yell i loaded all of my shit onto exchange to dump that shit. The moment i heard a foreign presenter it was over. I may have been one of the very few who profit from this. Feels disgusting to this day as its how i got my first 10Btc

No.
Bitconnect kept climbing until the very second of the actual exit scam.

>> No.21299498

No, people lost confidence when the exit scam began and the Youtubers stopped shilling their promo codes. And even then, many if not most still believed their money would return. And then a few states put out legal notices against Bitconnect, ... then eventually the price collapsed to $20 and some fools decided it was a great place to accumulate (seriously). Good times!

Yeah, some lives were ruined. And most of the perps got away with it:

Actually if you look most of those guys up, they jump from ponzi to ponzi and somehow seem to skate away wealthy and free.

Don't remember exactly cause I wasn't following this too much but I remember watching the dump in real time.

Lots of keks.

Just like OneCoin, it wasn't discussed much at all and just sort of happened parallel to /biz/ by shilling to low IQ normies on other communities. We unanimously called it a scam from the beginning, as unusual as that is for /biz/.
Basically, how often do we discuss CRO or Nexo now (or rather before the Zeus scam)? Not much, even though they are pretty high on CMC. Bitconnect was like that.

it was honestly a super obvious ponzi scam, and it was well known to be one by anyone that could put 2+2 together. Seriously, I'm not exaggerating, for at least a year before the actual collapse people would post on Reddit regularly reminding people that there was an actual ponzi scheme in the top 100 as an example of how perverted a space crypto is.

BitConnect was a great example of how people will believe whatever they want to believe. You didn't need to be a genius to realize it was a textbook ponzi scheme by their own admission.

>>21300204
this is true;
unfortunately this was the first or second crypto experience for most of the victims, and these ponzi fuckers know exactly who to target... the poor people who will put in way more than they can afford to lose.

Yeah the marketcap of CRO is crazy, so many people putting their money into what is effectively backed by a prop trading operation in one of the most volatile markets. It will surely end in tears.

Yup. The way OP phrased his question makes it seem like he thinks BitConnect was another one of the "mildly shady" projects like COSS or one of the many coins that have somewhat shady associates on their team, but appeared to have possible potential and were just the generally high risk, capricious gambles that crypto is full of.

That's not what BitConnect was, it was a full blown, obvious ponzi that one could literally just look at the structure of it for 5 seconds and determine it was a ponzi scheme.

It was truly fascinating imo. I am reading some info on how things went down on the inside now:

Lol sorry bro, if it makes you feel better I had a fuck huge COSS bag. The kinds of losses where I still have my bag left on the exchange because there's no point in realizing those losses and I have a very, very tiny glint of hope that maybe they get bought out or something and someday they come back because I'd make it EZ with a bag that size.

I made six figures off of COSS and then lost five, it was my first love and heartbreak.
