I want to build a small home near a temple in Siem Reap or Phnom Penh. Every morning I'll wake up when the monks start chanting. I'll gently wake up my wife and children, and drink a cup of coffee before driving them to school on the back of my motorcycle. I'll then head to town to open my small cafe/bar for the day. I'll take care of some admin work and shoot the shit with my employees before heading home for lunch. I'll meet my wife at our small home where we will eat a healthy lunch she prepared with ingredients she bought at the local market. After we eat I'll take her to the bedroom and give her our third child. Then I'll return to work to help with the dinner rush, and keep tabs on the bar until 8:00pm. I'll finally return home to watch anime with my children, and show them pictures of America where will travel during the summer vacation.
I'll check my portfolio and thank myself for buying link when it cost less than the price of a cup of coffee.

Timber frame house in the carpathian mountains with a loving, traditional wife to have kids with. Some farmhands to tend the cattle, sheep, chickens, gardens. A nice clean well, a hotspring on the property, a bunch of kids, my own gym, endless money from xrp mooning. Something like that, nothing fancy, just wholesome.

I'm planning on moving to Punta del Este or a rural beach town in Uruguay. It's economically, monetarily, and politically stable, over 90% of the population is of European descent, and it's politically irrelevant on the global stage, so no worries about shit going down. I'm highly considering buying a plot of land and making a Hacienda Napoles style compound complete with a pool, lots of space for my dogs to run around, bar, state of the art home gym, sauna, a big garage for my motorcycles and trucks, and a wall so beautiful it would bring a tear to Trump's eye.

The Hamptons or somewhere equally WASPy. I have a rich relative that invites us to their country club sometimes. It's a nice life. Like living in a classy Frank Sinatra song. Everyone is well dressed. Campfires and nice wine. The men discuss finance over dinner. Completely isolated from the chaos you see in large cities. It's the only environment I'd want to raise a family in.

The Hamptons would be an awesome place to visit, but I'd never live there. The maintenance and utility costs are going to be through the roof and they have one of the highest RE taxes at 2% on every $100k after $250,000. Those rates are only going to get higher with all the wealthy people fleeing NYC and NY state and Cuomo begging on national TV for them to come back. I do agree that WASPy areas are a phenomenal place to live and raise a family, but you need to take into account what your monthly expenditures would be on a home of that size and the local taxes. I've met a lot of people who have their hearts set on living in a specific home or location without considering this and find themselves unable to afford it when they realize how much it actually costs.

im going to build a shelter/compound/commune of sorts in the wildnerness far away from society up north where i will focus my efforts to create a sustainable life in the event of a happening. ideally i'd invite trusted friends to stay on my land and enjoy my communal things such as workshops and tools, music studio, art studio, smith, gardens, solar energy, well water. i would like to have many people who i care about be able to share a space with me where i will likely rot away, sending to town a few times a month for supplies, perhaps leave in the winter for a vacation. starlink internet will be here soon
