What is /biz/ opinion on this BAT shit? It seems like a shot in the dark buying the ICO, but if we are right, will make loads. I'm thinking of putting in a few thousand.

To be honest, I wouldn't even bother trying the ICO. 99% of people won't even have time to buy.

It won't last more than 1,5 minute. Screenshot this.

crazy risky, i preedict it dives at exchanges. now they are running a marketing campiagn but they are mileadaing people. Their supposed browser burrows almost all of its code from chrome.
They are simply trying to get some money off the alt coin maddness.
Dont forget they dont care how much their coin is worth later cause they got your ether already.
So when they get 15 mill they arent that bothered if the price drops at exchangs cause they have the money in ether and their coin share of BAT is not very bigs.
They get a huge injection of 15 billion dollars worth of ether into their project and you are stuck with a coin that loses value at exchanges as people realize their product is worthless which is bound to start happening after their pre ico marketing campaign ends.
If anything then id put like 1% of your crypto max into this.

How do you even buy an ICO? With a credit card or what?

>> No.2125688

>>2125638
Have you read about the purpose of the coin? You could throw $100 million at it and I'm certain people still wouldn't download the damn browser. How many browsers are out there? And how many do people actually use? You've got internet explorer with like 47% of the market share then safari and Firefox and chrome behind it. Who's gonna jump from one of those to Brave browser?

The best thing it has going for it is the fact the founder made JavaScript and confounded Mozilla. That alone may drive the coin up.

youre right but thats not how crypto works
this shit is hyped so much it will easily double in price right after launch

None of those browsers pay people to use them, obviously it won't be much but getting something for nothing is an offer any poorfag will struggle to refuse. You are aware people ACTUALLY suck dicks for money right?

How do you buy ICO's

Cant find info.

the fuck is google?

All I find is what ICO's are, how they work, etc. Not the process of actually buying them.

>> No.2126018

The browser's actually alright. The name Brave is ridiculous and makes searching for information on it difficult.

The only problem is that it'll be next to impossible to get people to switch browsers. Opera has had good tech and support for years and effectively nobody uses it. Edge is the default browser on 30% of PCs worldwide and still only 5% of people use it (and it's excellent).

It's a great idea but I can't see the tech being successful. The token might work as a p&d.

Is there a typical pattern to ICOs? What differentiates good from bad ones?

>Other browser extensions: One obvious use case for the BAT is for it to be used inside other browsers through extensions. This means that the BAT ecosystem will extend out to anyone using any of the current popular browsers.

Possibly yeah, but the benefit of Brave and BAT (to both publishers and end-users) are choosing to browse with ads in an otherwise ad free environment. Without the tech in Brave to remove ads fully I'm not sure how the token would make sense.
