Scaling on L1 is fucking stupid, the only way to do it is to destroy decentralization, nodes will shrink overtime, companies maintaining them will disappear and so on.
Look at ETH supplygate, it’s one week these big brains are sweating to compute it because everything is already out of control with a 5T blockchain, imagine in 20 years with all additional stuff and usage increase.
L2 is the way to go, there is no point for a distributed database to store the transaction of your coffee and your groceries, it’s a permanent record and a burden for people who will continue running a full node to keep decentralization real and not only a buzzword.

I really dislike big blockers. If you're one of those, don't you think running a node that generates 1GB every 10 minutes is unsustainable for most home users?
