OP... Most people freak the fuck out and even numbers such as 10k, 100k, 1M (mostly this).
That's why people most likely wouldn't hit much more than 1M in their lifetime ever.
They would "settle" for it and rationalize it was the "best decision", even if that same asset would have been worth 10M the next 5 years. Meaning, they missed out on an additional 9 million without feeling regret.

With that said, that's why it's more common to see millionaires get rich by doing a business since they business is what drives them and not money, than it would be to see someone a multi-millionaire from an investment.
