So to put this in real terms
Bond yields = price of govt debt
Debt is getting more expensive as govt has printed trillions it can never pay back through taxes

Fed needs bond yields to not crash but the only way to do this is to keep printing increasing amounts of money

Printing more money for overpriced bonds gives investors/banks more cash to spend on stocks despite the actual value of the stocks going way down
The old capitalist economic system is crashing as needed to happen to make way for the future, the federal government simply cannot deal with the situation, life is not gonna be easy if you’re a dependent person like a social security retiree, welfare dependent or government worker and solutions in the future are going to have to come from the ground up at the community level
Also, federal student loans are finally gonna get that bailout as inflation makes them a fraction of what they were lol

Alasdair Macleod rightly says that the pound is going to zero right along with the dollar. We back it with U. S. treasuries and other fiat currencies, not gold; we have even less manufacturing than America, a country which, as Peter Schiff says, is itself a joke in that regard; and debt to GDP has almost never been in worse in all our history. We borrow so much money that we could not fund our economy now, even with 1% yields on gilts. Our 300 tons of gold are not terrible, but, for comparison, Sweden has 120 tons of gold, and a population one seventh the size of ours. So I recommend that everybody in Britain get their hands on PMs and mining stocks as fast as they can, because this country is going to be in a worse situation than almost any other. Expect coronavirus tyranny to intensify as the government looks for a way to excuse for its own financial incompetence, which is the real cause of our demise. Socialism has frittered away the wealth of the greatest empire in the history of man in one generation.

Venezuela did the same, inflation on purpose. Makes the richest less rich in comparison, "elevating" the poor. At least in theory it was supposed to be this way, now they have to use silver and BTC to pay for everything there.
If they do the same in the US, there is like 90% of the citizens who would be happy about having their loans greatly reduced. All these students and young house owners, it's bad but poor people benefit from it, and then usually we have a war or something to reset the status.

lol and these retards still wont pay it back. Most student debt is between $25k-$50k. that should be payed off easily in 5-7 years. the problem isnt that they cant afford the amount or the interest, its that they never intended to pay them off in the first place or got a $100k degree for a job that pays $45k annually.

This is true BUT the assumption is lenders will possess the ability to press the debtor. Consider the US right now with student loans being deferred by EO, an eviction moratorium, and lenders voluntarily modifying loan agreements to waive interest and defer payments. Bottom line: the pain felt by the majority will hamstring lenders from collecting/foreclosing/etc. for fear of political interference even if the lenders could otherwise do so legally.

Also assumes you don't have...exotic...ways to roll over debt and assumes one will actually pay it back at all...

The same way it worked 70 years ago. You have gold and silver, you put it in the vault of a new national bank. They give you paper vouchers that have the equivalent buying power as your gold and silver. You use them as you use money right now. The only difference is, you can't print more gold. Banks are often tempted to give more vouchers than they have metals, because people rarely come pick it up. It used to be a thing, it was called the Bank Raid. I wonder if we've learned from 5000 years of human history to do it better this time, or is the greed going to win yet again.

>Someone explain?

Banks create mone...ahem...currency out of thin air when they issue loan proceeds - using a (((credit card))) in this case to buy PMs.

The play is using such (((currency))) [aka paper fiat] to acquire real assets, such as PMs, one would not have otherwise have been able to acquire.

You go short on the dollar (i.e. you've borrowed USD and owe it back in the future) and long on PMs or a real asset.

The way you win is by the value of the real assets going up in nominal USD at which point you can sell back part of the PMs to pay off the debt you took out to acquire them in the first place. If you're more adventurous you can explore defaulting on the unsecured debt or trying to negotiate a settlement with the lender where you will pay back far less than you originally borrowed.

The issue is how much ALLOCATED metals to gold GLD and SLV have vs (((unallocated))) metals.

They're ways to count physical metal more than once - i.e. multiple parties can legally lay claim to the same bar - and in the case of GLD and SLV, if push comes to shove and authorized participants demand redemption of their shares for the metal, there's a good chance they'll be short.

This is different than Sprott's products which are fully allocated...meaning if Sprott says they have [ x ] ozs of the metal, there's some vault with metal allocated ONLY to Sprott.

BTG is already a considerable part of GDXJ. What I gave you are the standard ETFs for the miners. GDX and SIL are the majors, GDXJ and SILJ are the mid-tiers. PSLV is physical silver, SILJ is mining stocks. Over the long term, mining stocks always outpeform the underlying metal in a bull market. They are lagging behind right now, which is why PSLV temporarily appears to be outperforming. But that is all the more reason to buy all the SILJ you can get your hands on.

Half in PSLV and half in SILJ seems like a very reasonable investment.

My point is this
You have 10,000 ounces of silver. It is revealed that its a shell game. There is no metal. What is your first reaction? You sell. Silver crashes hard. Silver could trade down to 0.01. Same goes for the Gold. You find out there is no metal. You have 1000 ounces. First reaction? Sell. Sell it all. This applies to every product. You could have misleading price action where gold or silver or even artisanal lavender beeswax trades down to $1 for the simple fact that its worthless. My first investment was starting a monthly stock subscription plan for 100 Euros, I bought shares of Berkshire Hathaway, that was 2009 and i still have this plan running as it is set without a day of end.
Nowadays I have 5 monthly stock plans, and also I buy precious metals phyisical only. Gold and silver 3:1 ratio.
It would have been better to buy more silver than gold but i wasnt clever enough to do that, also taxation in my cuntry sucks on silver.

If you dont have any stocks, buy Berkshire and Danaher in a monthly plan with a fixed amount of fiat currency.

>An awful lot of gold bulls are going to be disappointed when their unallocated bullion bank holdings turn to dust in the coming months — perhaps it’s a matter of a few weeks, perhaps only days — and synthetic ETFs will also blow up. The systemic demolition of paper gold and silver markets is a predictable catastrophe in the course of the collapse of fiat money’s purchasing power, for which the evidence is mounting. It is set to drive gold and silver much higher, or more correctly put, fiat currencies much lower.

Alasdair Macleod: GLD and SLV are not havens against crisis
Submitted by cpowell on Sun, 2013-05-12 16:17. Section: Daily Dispatches
12:16p ET Sunday, May 12, 2013

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

GoldMoney research director Alasdair Macleod writes today about how his inquiry to the United Kingdom's Financial Services Authority produced an acknowledgment that the custodianship of the metal nominally held by the gold and silver exchange-traded funds GLD and SLV is not regulated by government.

As a result, Macleod concludes, there is enormous counterparty risk for GLD and SLV investors, in a financial crisis central banks more easily can seize metal held by bullion banks, and the two ETFs should not be considered havens against such a crisis. His commentary is headlined "The Role of GLD and SLV" and it's posted at GoldMoney's Internet site here:

then why do you use his video every post

I think that works. The aluminum foil acts the same way it does in a thermite mix and pulls off the oxygen molecules that create the tarnishing/oxidation. The baking soda solution just acts as a conductor for the reaction to take place, or maybe because it's basic makes the oxidation come off easier somehow idk. I saw a video of it that seemed pretty miraculous. I'm buying rolls of aluminum foil for the collapse/depression because it's such a powerful metal with high affinity for oxygen. You literally can't create it without a huge electricity supply so it'll be super valuable when power gets expensive.

>>21190979
Yeah, everybody take the time to post one PMs related message in a link thread today, seeing as link is a pretty popular cryptocurrrency right now for whatever reason. Best to go for the head when trying to hijack the discussion.

>>21191092
Do what you want, it's just annoying to hear about it in these threads now because it's associated with shilling. It takes more specialized knowledge to invest in physical rather than stonks/ETFs so I think physical discussion should be a larger proportion of the posts in the /pmg/ threads

I agree with you, that more contracts are going to be brought to delivery.
I do not think that force majeure will occur in September. Will they be squeezed?
Hell yes, but that will only drive up the price of silver.

Also.. SLV is independent of COMEX. You're acting like they're going to raid the SLV vault and use that silver to bail themselves out. It doesn't work that way brother. If anything, it would drive up the price even further

There are already, demonstrably, 500 paper ounces of SLV to every real ounce of physical metal. Virtually every analyst in the PM industry agrees on this. It's an inference which people have made in relation to the number of SLV paper contracts which are regularly pumped and dumped, as against the amount of real silver in stockpiles, and which is mined for investment each year. More silver is allegedly going into SLV daily right now than is actually mined in weeks or months, at the same time as we have silver shortages, and bullion dealers can hardly find any product to sell. Chris Marcus interviewed dozens of insiders in the industry for his book "The Big Silver Short," and he never got an answer lower than 500 owners to each real ounce of silver.

Buy the physical, it's a troll who's been coming here since silver started exploding to dissuade us from owning physical which ruins their paper game.

Anyone holding SLV when they fail to deliver, will get close to zero dollars paid out to them. Anybody holding physical when that happens will be richer than your wildest dreams. If you own less than 1000 ounces of physical silver you will REGRET it.

The largest gains in physical silver during a bull run are NOT from mining. They are from collecting silver that is out there and melting it down.

Look at the recovered silver during the last bull run. That is where the new supply comes from.

You are acting like it is a strange thing for one of the largest banks in the world to have connections to where they can buy physical easily and in bulk.

It's not a bad idea to make quick money trading in and out of SLV silver, but they don't actually hold enough silver for the amount of paper silver claims they have. Essentially then, there's a time bomb on SLV that we don't know when will go off. You're taking extra risk with it, but so long as you know this there's nothing wrong with trading it. Physical silver and gold have no counter party risks but come with premiums. However, premiums won't be going away anytime soon until the end of the bull market years down the line. The real price of silver is the spot + premium price.

As for why they're pushing it, it's probably trolling. I have no idea why mods aren't doing anything in the thread called PHYSICAL metals general.

>>The largest gains in physical silver during a bull run are NOT from mining.

This is demonstrably false. The average small-cap silver miner goes up 150x in a silver bull-market. The level of leverage which miners give to the metal is simply breathtaking. The reason being that these miners regularly produce hundreds of thousands of ounces.

>>You are acting like it is a strange thing for one of the largest banks in the world to have connections to where they can buy physical easily and in bulk.

Every single person who sells bullion can't get it. Every single person. Nobody testifies otherwise. That's why the premiums are so high. You have to pay $50 to buy an ounce of silver in England now. J. P. Morgan isn't some special exception to the rule. It is demonstrably impossible for them to get the inflows which are alleged to go into SLV. Nobody stockpiles silver, virtually all the supply that is annually mined goes into industry, and most of the mines have been shut down for most of this year. Meanwhile SLV is allegedly putting weeks' or months' worth of annual silver-mining supply into their stockpile every day. Which you can't audit or verify, or course, because there's no bar-list. Mean-while, it is demonstrable that J. P. Morgan has been manipulating the price of silver on the COMEX for eight years. >>21192212 Why on earth would you trust them?

I am not talking about paper gains, I am talking about actual silver, in hand, the largest amount of silver (increase in the physical supply) during a bull run comes from silver reclaim, melting down that which is already out there.
That is 100% true, and you're an idiot if you think that mines can increase their mining capacity to such a large degree in such a short period - that takes more time, and yes, in the long run, mines produce more. We are talking short run here.

"JPM isn't some special exception to the rule."
Yes, they are. It's how it works. You are naive to think that a big bank doesn't get special treatment over little ol' you.

They have been manipulating the price, keeping it low, to allow them to grow their stockpile, to the greatest size in all of human history. They 100% manipulated the markets for years, and years, and years. I am with you brother.

That is why you go with them now. They have their stockpile. They are now long in their silver position, and only adding to it. You go with the smart money - they are going to come out of this with TRILLIONS in profit

JPM's stockpile isn't in SLV. Watch the interview with Hemke, he's followed this for years, and knows more about it than any other person. Everything will make sense to you afterwards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EOPKizJ_Y4 They have 130 million ounces in a private vault. Used to be 160 million, but they were forced to cover their short position recently. The whole reason why silver is going up is because JPM's stockpile is rapidly depleting. Also, I don't believe the Ted Butler theory that J. P. Morgan ever intended to go long. They kept their vault of 160 million ounces in order to manipulate the COMEX, nothing more or less. It was a way to control the market, since, if they had those ounces, they could go short by claiming that shorting was a hedge. They have no need to keep anything real in SLV. SLV is simply a scam used for dumping tens of millions of paper contracts on the market at a time to suppress the price of silver.
