Eth is going above $100k in the second half of this decade.
Look at that chart. What does it tell you? That negative interest rates (at best maybe zero) are the future globally. America, Japan and China are similar.
What that means is any positive yield is going to be extremely valuable - the market is going to be happy even with 0.1%.
Staked eth is going to generate yield from fees paid by users.
Currently it's about $1M-$2M daily - with sharding, zkrollups, and much higher adoption it's definitely going to $20M+ daily.
That's about $7.3B of annual income from staking.

Assume half of all eth is staked and the market yield rate is 0.1%. That means a market cap of $7.3B/0.1%*2 = $14.6T.

Taxes are an additional factor. As normal people get poorer, confiscatory wealth taxes are going to get more popular worldwide. Everything is going to get taxed (for real estate probably own home is going to be exempted, but nothing more). Warren wanted an annual wealth tax of up to 6%. Tax havens are going to get demolished by coordinated global action.
What's going to be the only decentralized, potentially anonymous and unconfiscatable yield-generating asset? Eth.
Imagine that you have $1B in a tax haven and you see the writing on the wall - you can either tell the irs (or equivalent) and start paying several percent in wealth tax each year (which guarantees having next to nothing after 20 years), dump it all in eth, get $1M in positive yield each year while retaining full control over your capital, including the ability to give it to your children without any tax, or wait, and lose everything while going to prison.
This is going to be the greatest wealth transfer in history.

eth doesnt scale and is slow and shitty. the market will turn to ada for yield.

Please enlighten a brainlet on why Eth?

Staking is possible on many other crypto projects no?

From a normie user perspective ETH has enormous fees and transactions take ages to go through.

For it to work there has to be a ton of people using it for everyday transactions in order to make staking viable no?

Aren't there other cryptos with better fee conditions and faster transaction times?

>> No.21040280

>>21040253
Because the only real income comes from fees, not inflation. A staking coin without users that pay fees has no value.

1000x this. Staking is a fucking meme if theres no actual network usage

No because sharding + zkrollups allow eth to scale above 100k TPS.

I agree, but at the same time which seems more unbelievable. eth going from $1 to $1400? or 200 to 100,000? I have no fucking clue, but if eth hits 10k I'm golden
