There is no better feeling than being a link 1%er right now. My frens and me all making it. NuLinkers (anyone who started buying after coinbase listing) and NoLinkers absolutely seething as they just let link slip through their fingers

>> No.21004219

I know this is probably a dumb question but could anyone explain what it means to have link “in a smart contract”. I thought links couldn’t be attached to smart contracts until staking but obviously there is something massive I am not understanding here.

LINK is used as collateral to guarantee honest behavior in nodes. The idea is that if you have a node running contracts worth a few million, and you have a few million in collateral, you're not going to fuck with any of them because you don't stand to gain anything.

This is why buying link now and for the past few years is the best thing you can do with every penny you have. As OP's pic illustrates, the arms race to have *enough* link to run a node is itself a network-effect. It causes a geometric expansion of price by simultaneously increasing demand and reducing supply. i.e. growth^2

>Simeon

Imagine hatching a business plan that revolves around convincing a bunch of rich high-IQ autists that they're all actually victims of an intricate scam, to slowly increase the value of a worthless shitcoin over years and years and years until it's a top 10 mcap, when the alternative explanation for you showing up all of a sudden is that you've taken a huge short position on link and are trying to drive the price down.

Better run some more Twitter ads, Simeon!

You are correct, that is how this actually works. Being unable to cash out in crypto is a dead meme, although I don't know why anyone would want to even think about doing so with link before staking is released (beyond trying to swing, but swingers get the rope).
