I also had no experience in the field and very little work experience in general so I lied on my cv and added a bunch of random jobs.
I think what made the difference for me is my ability to write really good cover letters. I'm also very good at interviews.
There must be anal chem jobs all over the us, keep looking in different cities and eventually you'll find something.
