20917842 No.20917842 [Reply] [Original]

Ok so I asked /sci/ and they said that assuming there is a high demand then the technology to create catgirls by splicing human and feline DNA should be developed to the point of being viable between 2030-2060, BUT it (the technology) would likely require such expensive equipment and materials and be so unsuited for mass production that in order to make a profit they (the catgirls) would have to be sold at such a high price that they would only be available to extremely rich people, comparable to the cost and availability of commercial space travel in this decade (this is assuming that no legal or ethical issues would arise surrounding artificially creating a new sentient species specifically for the purpose of domestic ownership.) So I wanted to ask, based on your knowledge of historical examples of new and expensive technologies being released commercially and your understanding of the effect of market forces on the development and refinement of such technologies, how long would it take for said catgirls to become affordable to the average consumer?

I know this is a cryptocurrency board so this post isn't very relevant but there's nowhere better to ask

Anon it is critically important that you have 80k usd so that you can be cryogenically frozen (same place as Hal Finney). It’s the only way you’ll be able to experience catgirls, as they won’t come in our lifetime

the fuck? there is nothing complex or expensive about tech, what is complex is figuring out the splice and getting a good result, once that is known replicating it is extremely straightforward

By that time computer rights will become mainstream, you will have to have to repent for your human form, and buying a catgirl would be illegal.
You could learn to lucid dream and have as many cat girls as you like.

I just hope they only have ears and tails and be genetically engineered to have gorgeous human female feet. I figure 32 ETH and 1000 LINK will be enough to make that happen.

We are more likely to get full dive VR before any real life catgirl. And assuming there is one country that allows you to do whatever you want in your own head, you can fuck any beast you want there.

by far the easiest splice would be reactivating the human tail, we already have the genes for it, frankly I think we already have the capability to make tailed humans with our level of tech. experimentation would be needed to get the hair and length correct and work out possible complications with the spine.

Unfortunately the ears would be much more difficult, the easiest method would involve altering the current human ear shape and giving them localized fur, kind of like a ctarl-ctarl. Changing the actual position of the ear is just asking for complications

And what is 'real'? How do you define 'real'? If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

VR can be real.

it’s definitely an interest of mine, I do think it’s very attainable. As with any human experimentation there are ethical problems, especially since we’re talking about creating human life. Yes we could probably hammer out a tailed human variant after a few dozen iterations, but how do you ensure quality of life for those experimental transition humans? Psychologically they would know they were created as a stepping stone, and they might have unforeseen genetic problems. It’s a pretty serious ethical problem. Also consider that humans take a long time to develop and any thorough study will want to document the effects of the treatment before mass producing a variant that could potentially suffer unforeseen genetic problems

one way around this would be if we can modify existing humans, either with gene therapy or transplantation of custom body parts grown in a lab. Then we can observe a close proxy of what we’re trying to create

real is what I believe exists, and that exists by itself and for itself. Even if a full dive vr system was developed that would alter your brain so that you truly believed the things you saw existed in this way, the illusion would be broken when I left the simulation. Even if a full dive vr system was developed that you could stay in full time, I wouldn't want to be in it unless the rest of human society was also experiencing the same simulation and also believing it to be real, which would not happen for many centuries due to the natural human oposition to the concept
>>20919353
>one way around this would be if we can modify existing humans [with gene therapy]
yeah we talked about that in the /sci/ thread, unfortunately DNA editing is apparently a long way off :(
>or transplantation of custom body parts grown in a lab
hadn't thought of that. but if that procedure wouldn't be the end goal of the technology, how would observing its results help us?

>> No.20919824

let’s say we grow a tail and it’s base musculature for a subject and graft it on, and perform physical therapy until their brain learns how to move it, we can figure out the optimal attachment points for the muscles at the base of the tail and observe the effects of having a tail on the subject’s spine, we can also determine the right length proportion and what we want the hair to look like, which will all make it much easier to get it right the first time when we birth a tailed variant

>to be affordable
Never. Catgirl maintenance would be more expensive than hiring a full time maid. Having service people in your home will always be expensive, you either have to pay them or keep them clothed, fed and submissive in the case of slaves and catgirls.

Expect many of them to run away and get run over by a car or something.
