Hey /biz/, is it better to buy or rent a house? We found a 3 bedroom and 2 bath with a tiny cabin for 79,000. Is that a good price? Should we rent?

Our priorities were housing of pets and money, in that order.

Basically, if you think the housing market is going to continue to rise, then you should buy asap.
If you think it's going to rise or not fall and you will be living there for at least several years, you can probably safely buy now.

However, if you think the housing market will correct or crash, then buying high is a recipe for disaster (e.g. buying a house in 2006/2007).

Renting is better for short term living and potentially hedging the housing market.

The markets in my region are stagnate, but it's cause we heard that everything might collapse and how the bubble is real, so we don't know, plus they are meaty ogre houses for 79,000. Literally Mexican tier adobe houses
