New Note 1
When the obituary is written years from now it will be about Bitcoins failure to actually be a currency you can directly buy goods with.
>But what about gold that's just the same. Yea great you made yet another commodity for people to trade, but have completely lost the aspect of this being cash/money to spend right now on things you need right now. The core team fucked themselves by not pushing merchant adoption. Now stable coins and a soon to be digital dollar will just about make Bitcoin old and boring. Long Smart Ledgers(smart contract platforms e.g. ETH) are already wrapping bitcoin treating it like the commodity it is.
Bitcoin is not your savior and definitely not at $11k. Merchant adoption fucked BTC

Thoughts?

BTC is a shitcoin because Blockstream got their hands on the devs, remember that they make money when BTC is designed badly.

I see two possible scenarios:
>Activity moves away from Bitcoin network. Bitcoin survives as the safest coin due to its hashrate and remains alive for a halving or two or three more, then hashrate starts going down because rewards are down and nobody actually uses the network to make transaction fees profitable. Bitcoin slowly dies. Chainlink #1, L1 is settlement layer, NEETs everywhere rejoice.
>Blockstream succeeds in establishing (((Lightning Network))) and BTC becomes a back end for old money banks to use instead of gold, surviving that way. Lightning network becomes the normie-friendly way to transact in crypto and real decentralized finance becomes the Linux to its Windows. Hashrate can go down but it doesn't matter as that point the L1 is just a charade for the Bitcoin name recognition. I hope to god that doesn't happen as it would kill the entire point of the crypto revolution.
