Both are good buys and they're not particularly in competition. Nvidia has complete monopoly on the scientific computing (including but not limited to ML/DL/AI) space even if they were to magically lose video game gpu sales. AMD has exclusivity for next-gen console GPUs but also does CPUs and is having tailwind because of numerous intel fuckups more than their GPU division.
