Careful with physical purchases right now, the premium on silver, for example, is very high. Like 20%. I'm not saying not to buy any physical, but I'm the minority that prefers gold to silver for physical right now. Smaller premiums and less volatile. Also you likely will never cash in your physical, you'll end up owning it your whole life or at least a very long time. If you buy physical silver right now, it needs to appreciate like 20% to cover the premiums, then you get taxed at collectable capital gains (28%), and when you turn it in they pay you less than spot. So, you have to be careful there.

If you like PMs then I'd probably go into PHYS and PSLV, which are allocated and you can look up the tax benefits there. Also consider putting them in a roth ira.

I don't think it is nuts doing miners right now, I'm in them also. about 50% juniors, 50% majors. If you look at their historical performance during times like these it is good.

You seem bearish on the dollar, so you might want to look into diversified foreign ETFs, but end of the day we don't know what will happen. I really like BRK.B because Warren is a value investor, and he is underperforming now but his style of investing does well when things get bad. The risk is that he dies and morons take over. Then VOO for just tracking the S&P500. Trickle into these over time, dollar cost average.

That's a reasonable way to look at it. The thing with physicals is to just slowly purchase over time. Like set aside a little budget to purchase a bit of gold and silver each year over your lifetime.

A few hundred a week is reasonable. I'd keep a certain amount read to buy a crash, which is what you'd be doing. You are also new to this so it would allow you to get your feet wet slowly. I'd have a plan for a crash as well. Like if stocks drop 30% I want to buy X, if they drop 50% I want to buy Y, etc.
