I'd recommend a much larger % of the lottery contributions get rolled into the next week's drawing. That way the pot gets bigger much faster. Big jackpots are what attract lottery ticket buyers. I've studied lotteries for an econometrics thesis. You definitely need to roll at a minimum 20% of the ticket sales into the next week's drawing unless/until you have a respectable minimum prize amount. With gas prices so high, only a small number of people will be curious enough to participate.
