STA is there to provide deflationary balance. That is the stupid reason why it works. That and it is truly decentralized so the team can't just fuck over an entire community. I love LINK and it is my number 1 hodl, but Sergey can drop 700k anytime and we just take it. You need to go back to the first transaction and speed it up or cancel it. Easiest way I know how to do that is via Brave browser being connected to its Crypto Wallet you can see each transaction and you can cancel, speedup each one. Go back to first one and try to cancel it and just move up the list until they are all cancelled.
