I am a poorfag, however I am invested in ampl. My percentage to marketcap is roughly .0001. Is it better for me to hold my coins or to stake them? I don't quite understand the staking process.

Also, this coin is supposed to be independent from other currencies. If it is technically supposed to be valued at a dollar, what would happen to the ample coin if the dollar suddenly collapsed?

It's valued at the 2019 dollar

if you can make that collapse I'll put my money in you not ETH

It’s not pegged to the dollar, so if the market cap is big enough, theoretically it will be a better store if value if the dollar collapses (uncorrellated).

Adding to the geyser doesn’t really make sense for a poorfag, just hodl and collect the rebase. If your stack gets big enough and you want to stake some, you can put a percentage in the geyser as a hedge in case shit hits the fan out of nowhere. You still get great ROI with geyser rewards, it wouldn’t be a lucrative S’s just hodling from what I understand though

If you stake it you will be holding 50/50 ETH/AMPL. If you want full exposure to AMPL just hold, don't stake or add liquidity.

This. I'm a mini whale and i'm just holdingmy ampies until 1 usd

So there isn't any 'staking' in AMPL. You can either leave it as is and get the compounding rebases or add it + ETH to Uniswap for liquidity and geyser rewards. Leaving it in your wallet and getting the rebases is higher risk higher reward. While in the Geyser you will likely lose some to impermanent loss, but it's less risky in case AMPL dumps. I personally have been leaving it in my wallet for the rebases

In order to make sure you get the rebases, keep your AMPL in a wallet you actually control, like Metamask, vs a centralized exchange.

Also, read the redbook and their website so you actually understand what you're invested in

ive read it, i feel like i grasp it for the most part. I just am still trying to understand it as much as I can.

How big will the mcap go until its hit its value at 1

Anon don’t buy ampl. It’s not a scam but all this shit you’re hearing about rebasing and compounding is fake. The coin basically does a math magic trick every day to make idiots think they get free money. If the market cap goes up, you make money. If it goes down, you lose money. No magic. Works the same as anything else. This might keep going up but it’s not revolutionary or useful.

this is still the price discovery price where the market is trying to reach the equilibrium market cap where the price can be stable, no one knows for sure but the emerging consensus is it will be more than a billion, DEFI platforms might start considering AMPL as collateral once it remains stable above a billion

Would you like to easily check what the current rebase % will be on your Amples? Check out this easy spreadsheet I made:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1m5nMkBVEhbc16Kl1J7CwltbVLSIK0BLH8W0FCKoR7zQ/edit?usp=sharing

Just change the "Oracle Price" cell and play with the numbers. Hope it's useful.
