I do. For me, wealth represents more absolute goals and freedoms. There's a finish line to strive for. Though there'll be a point at which I'll shorten the race if it doesn't look achivable in a timely manner. No point in chasing dollars into the grave.

Agreed. That's a big part of it. Another would be your health (which many people give up in chasing wealth too hard). Another a sense of accomplishment.
But what wealth represents for me is the freedom to spend my time doing what I want. Maybe I want to try my hand at wood-carving for a few months. Wealth allows me to do so without worry. It's the ability to find purpose in things other than trying to provide your basic needs.
