Probably, the value of the US dollar priced against other world fiat currencies graphed with the predicted price of the US dollar if inflation continues at the same rate (which it almost certainly has).

What the graphs show is that the Imperial United States have been exporting the cost of our inflation throughout the empire onto our colonies which has forestalled the collapse of the US dollar and a global reset from US being the global reserve currency.

You need the cash in your account to do so, first of all. Second of all, exercising a contract before expiry is rather foolish. And apparently the term boomer rocks isn’t misleading either:

> Interestingly, when demographic filters were applied to the results targeting individuals between 18 to 24 years old, the percentage [who said they didn’t own any precious metals] increased to 87.6%.

I figured this had to be true. Not only is coin collecting anecdotally rapidly becoming a stereotypical old man’s hobby, but the only place I see PMs being advertised is in boomer magazines and ad spots on TV shows for boomers. Also, young people tend to have an aversion to using physical cash because of the perceived lower risk of theft. Just check out how people pay at the supermarket next time you’re there: it’s all zoomzooms with their iPay or whatever, GenXers pay in card, and only old smelly boomers pay cash and especially coin.

We are a minority within a minority especially in our age group.

I'd say it goes hand-in-hand with the digitization of everything. When you can read everything on a handheld device, watch TV and Youtube, read comics, play games, etc on a device that fits in your pocket, they figure why own anything at all? And you can just pay for something by waving your phone at a machine these days, you barely even need a credit or debit card anymore.

Still I suspect some women have jewelry but a lot of that stuff is only like 16-carat and not that heavy in metal besides. It’s not nothing though: if gold went up to like $10,000 an ounce I’d say theres a lot of women out there who would realize they have $5000 or so sitting in their jewelry box

Those that have savings are in equities through Robinhood or some into crypto. Robinhood is quite a popular zoomer meme. It’s even how I bought my gold and silver miners. But I have a feeling PM stacking is going to go mainstream this time. I thought it was going to happen in 2008, and it sort of did, but we had nowhere near this much stimulus then. The Fed has abandoned the inflation target and are willing to let the economy run hot with the stimulus just to prevent deflation. We were spared the inflation last crisis, but this time it’s going to be working it’s way to us noticeably. Ironically, equities will actually be a big hedge against inflation since they’re inflating these assets out the ass. People who don’t have money to stash in assets will be poorer on the other side of this.

A lot of people had adjustable rate mortgages back in 2008. The rate shot up and people couldn't pay for their homes anymore.

If you take out a fixed rate, your monthly mortgage bill doesn't change even if the dollar plummets to $500 for a big mac

Australia had gold sovereigns until the 30's, 925 coins until end of ww2 and 50% after until 66 when they went decimal and the last junk was the 66 50c pieces that were 80% that were pulled after a year. My mother worked at a bank at the time and would change her money and buy rolls and rolls of them that she still has. I remember i spent some to buy some chips in the 90s and got a hiding for it.

>fixed rate is important
Because if you try to save a few bucks now with a low rate adjustable mortgage, you may find the rate reset during the most inopportune time and lending may be such that you can’t refinance before things take off. If inflation gets out of control, and it very well could since they’ve abandoned the inflation target, you could reset to a punitive rate. Ask older folks who got mortgages in the early 80s while Volcker was trying to break stagflation. 20% on a mortgage was real. If you lock in a low fixed rate now, even if you could do better with an adjustable, you could find your self in a negative interest situation where your mortgage interest rate could be below the inflation rate. Inflation would be paying part of your mortgage down.

It sounds like you have family tradition tied to this.
Dont make it a meaningless vanity purchase though.
Does your family have a good tradition?
That might be a question worth asking on this tradition.
I wouldn't dedicate gold to a chain unless its used in a worship or reverential manner, but even then you're less prone to sell it or break it up because it is now not meant for trading nor selling.

You may want to break this tradition with your lineage anon...

I'm holding funds in PHYS (sprott gold) and PSLV (sprott silver). Eric Sprott runs a tight ship and his counter party is the Canadian Mint. Remember this week's price spike was because he decided to add 75 million more ounces to PSLV via a 25 month options contract.

I would about GLD (HSBC), IAU, and SLV (JP Morgan Chase). You can do fancy put and call options on those but I don't trust the private bank PM holdings.

Another option is Perth Mint's AAAU. You can even go on their website and convert your shares into product to be shipped to your address.

Never bet against them. I learned that the hard way in 2008. I share the sobering view of things as everyone, but I won’t get too doomy. I was a Ron Paul Libertarian in the mid 2000s leading up to the financial crisis and when thy was unfolding, it felt like the end of the fiat system...so I ignored people telling me about bitcoin (sub $1). I kept stacking and thought internet money that relied upon power and the internet may not be a good idea going into a depression. I learned the hard way to never underestimate the lengths the central banks will go to keep this going. UBI and the Fed balance sheet right now would make you think the collapse is around the corner, but I’m not getting burned again. I’m going to hedge accordingly and get prepared for all outcomes. We are probably going to end up with some form of UBI, whether it’s called that or not and I think they will keep this thing going, albeit, it will be impossible to hide some of the ugly Side effects this time.

This is good for us. It means a moderate rise in PM prices.

A failure to pass more stimulus would have dashed consumer spending, wrecked the mortgage market, and probably spiked PM prices FASTER.

This way, sure inflation will mean a steady march upwards for PM prices, but it will happen gradually and orderly.

We probably still have at least two or three months, maybe even six, before normies realize their Federal Reserve Note doesn’t buy what it used to and stampede into the PM market.

I know other LMU countries followed the 7 units to an ounce like Switzerland did, but most coins from the other LMU countries are worth more numismatically than as bullion. Love it. we got a wedge forming, big move one way or the other. With gold's recent moves too confirming silver, I'm betting up.

Gold and Silver are tag teaming right now. Gold moved first the last months, silver recently confirmed the move, then gold confirmed silver's move by moving towards the 1900 level. Of course, this literally is what all the gold and silver bugs have been banging the table about for the last year.

Yes. Dude, if you have enough money to buy 1 oz of gold you can only get 57-58 Oz of silver on Apmex, JM Bullion etc right now. My local shop is allegedly buying ASE's at $24 selling at $27. I called today, even tho I never shop there. That means If I sell Silver, I need to sell 81.25 so let's call it 82 to get 1 AGE. Not too long ago they where buying ASEs at $18, and to buy 1oz of Gold at the time was 1850 meaning 103 oz of silver needed. The ratio is going to go down. Way down. Physical supply is super down.
