Depends on timeframe for trading but yes. Responding to sell offs for instance in June would have fucked you out of good gains. If you are looking at 6+ month trades/investments then you should try to ignore short term moves such as dumps on good earnings. There are some things to certainly watch out for but not psychologically driven short term moves like dumps.

Put the rest of your savings in a high yield savings account. Maybe even put some of it into bonds if you don’t plan on needing it in the next few years.

If you’re looking at the long term, focus kn ETFs or mutual funds.
Keep a couple hundred to throw at random stocks (try to stick to companies you know).
