>my mortgage is £500 a month
>people pay £900 a month rent for properties the same as mine

Bros... can you believe how dumb renters are, I've found the key to financial freedom

The average house price in Australia is about $700,000.00 even if I had that money I'd rather invest it in equities and rent, so that I'm not shackled to a cumbersome immovable illiquid asset for 30 years.

A couple of my friends said the same, now they've basically signed a contract which comes down to them having to work for the rest of their lives to pay off the mortgage.

Not to even start on the extra pressure it can put on your relationship, what if you're not happy together anymore and want to split up? So much more of a hassle.

As a renter I can freely go wherever I want, relocate, life together, life alone. If there's a crack in the wall of my apartment, or anything else happens to the overall structure of the house - not my fucking problem mate. I won't be here in 5 years.
