Just inherited 4.2 million at 21. What are some investments I can make that will generate me monthly passive income? At the moment I'm thinking a mix of residential multifamily real estate for rental income, a couple of commercial properties, couple hundred grand in savings and the rest in various indexes. Any other suggestions? Just looking for ideas. Will also be speaking to a financial advisor. I currently have no debt at all.

Do you know what a Rebase is Anon? You want. BTC 2.0 for under $3. Buy AMPLEFORTH. Not even trying to shill, because this is obvious LARP. but holy shit. Throwing 5k at this at 1.50 was great. Couldn't imagine if I even threw 25k a little over a week ago

Vanguard etfs
Blue chip stocks and bonds
REITs
Rental properties are kind of a meme here. REITs are diversified and therefore a lot safer. If you put 30% of your money in one building, whats your plan when an idiot tenant burns it down and then his idiot family hits you with a wrongful death suit. I had that happen to a friend. It was a nightmare for him. He needed a lawyer for the wrongful death suit and then he ended up needing a lawyer just to deal with his own insurance. Real estate is a dangerous game. You have to have real risk tolerance

DYOR into the crypto market cycles.... we are at the cusp of the bull market, literally RIGHT NOW alt coins are hitting lows and over the rest of this week btc and eth are gonna dip, you should pick like 5-6 solid coins, i reccomend BTC, ETH, LINK, RLC, XSN (master node = passive income), there are many more too but these look the most promising either way just pick one and put like 100k into coins, realistically you are losing nothing from that and if you have some balls you could make fuck you money over the next 6 months as long as u cash out near the top. gl bro

^^^ Follow this advice OP. Budget around the dividends to pay for your living and personal expenses. Do not touch your initial 4.2 mil. You can lose this money just as easily as you inherited it.

ZERO CRYPTO as core strategy. PLEASE.

Guessing you are US so property is meh. But in a decent enough place it's good passive income through rent. Two to three properties minimum imo.

LOW FEE index funds. Anything that promises massive gains isn't worth your time. You don't need huge gains is the thing, you just want nice steady growth (see the Buffett bet). Vanguard and all that stuff.

Blue chip stocks that pay dividends will also be primo.

If you want to stuff around the /biz/ crypto fad, DYOR into some long term holds. If you want to have fun take maybe $10-20k and use it to play with alt-coins and all that. Hey maybe you get another mill, or maybe you lose it...hence why you don't want to put too much in. It's HIGH RISK shit.

The main thing is to not blow your initial investment. Treat at least most of it like it doesn't exist - use your investment income / dividends / profits for living and screwing around. If you want to use the initial funds to buy yourself a nice property that's not entirely insane.

More importantly - self-research. Professional advisers will help at first (and I would STRONGLY recommend seeking their advice), but also suck percentages out of your gains. It's not that hard to live infinitely once you already have some money. I 100% guarantee that I'd never be forced to work a day ever again if I had even $2M, because it's just not that hard. I don't though, just crunched the numbers as a what-if once.

Make a budget plan to live with less than $1000 a month, $500 if possible, and the enjoy life. Spend about 3 hours a day checking up on the investments, specially the rental properties. Remember to consult a lawyer and accountant, the IRS will try to fuck you at every turn if you don't pay taxes (ignorance is not a valid excuse for them). This is what I would do in your situation at least.

Oh yeah forgot to mention. DO NOT GAMBLE OR ENTER A CASINO AT ALL EVER IN YOUR LIFE, AND AVOID CRYPTOCURRENCY LIKE THE PLAGUE. You could also take $0.2 million from the cash reserve and start a small business with that to keep you busy, focus your attention to grow it and generate more income.
