Nah. I just understood it myself recently. Rebases almost don't matter because most exchanges just block trading during the window where you can sell at the higher pre rebase price and just after you got more supply. It's all about market cap if you're a hodler.

If AMPL was a "normal" coin - if you bought AMPL at 6million MC for - lets say - $10. It would be worth $628 - and still going. Thats BIGGER than the eth run from $10 --. <$400. AND IN A SHORTER PERIOD BUT the great thing is that its STILL ONLY $2,48 !!! FFUGGGG so they have basically "contained" the shock of the hype from watching number go UP. brilliant. the gains are in the back (MC) which is easier to comprehend the magnitude of the market. So its a bigger perspective - Bitcoin's - 172 million MC is "BIG NUMBER" while its price (9k) is "SMALL NUMBER"(in comparison)
so in relation to "BIG NUMBER" AMPL is percieved to have a higher ceiling - IF AMPL had gone from 10 -- -628 - there would be much more panic in the market instead their is curiosity
