That's fair to say, I don't think that a metal standard currency would work nowadays, but I atleast see silver and gold as a way to hold your value, it can be argued that gold isn't a great investment over the last however many years and that's probably true, but trends show that if you just buy gold whenever the economy is doing well and metals are cheap and wait for a time like now you can weather the storm way better than anyone else, it's so easy idk why everyone doesnt just do it, it's basically garunteed profit over the long term (that is if you sell of course)

This is just my opinion, but I think some of the people who think like me get lumped in with end of the world preppers and it makes it seem like there's no grey area, I think an economic collapse or atleast a depression is way more likely then a societal collapse, and PMs are great for that, if I was a prepper and wanted to prep for a societal collapse I wouldn't even hold PMs, they most likely wouldn't be currency in a full on SHTF and you'd basically only want ammo, water, food, etc, PMs are a purely economic thing for me and I try not to hold as much sentimental value when investing in them, but it's like the more and more metals you buy the more you hope for the situations alot of people on here talk about, but deep down I know once silver moons I wanna sell and then buy gold with the money if the ratio goes down, Gold is the main goal, silver is a shorter term play for me just to leverage into more gold

Depends. Short term high risk for silver - EXK or AUMN. I've already almost 3x my position on AUMN, doubled on EXK, and doubled on Hecla.

For gold if I could only pick one I'd go with a royalty. Newmont to be conservative or Sandstorm for a bit of risk. I own everything I've mentioned and have significant gains on all of them.

Is there any precious metal that's shitting the bed right now? Feels like the train has already left the station in terms of investing in PM for the upcoming crash. Gold and silver etc. are way up, palladium, platinum, and copper are doing okay too despite being industrial metals.
Feels like the play is to sit on cash until everything goes full mad max and then buy cheap stock in industries that will come back over the next 10 years. Precious metals wont be cheap again until the economy has crashed and truly recovered.

When I was looking back and trying to understand the PM/silver crash in 2011 the only major news I could find right around the dates of the biggest drops was the announcement that Bin Laden had been killed.

My theory without more information was that the economic boogeyman of the time was the war against terror, and when Bin Laden was killed fear went out of the market and people started to exit PMs. This makes me think that COVID is the current economic boogeyman, and announcement of an effective vaccine could produce the same effect.

I would recommend against .22 for any sort of defensive application. Rimfire rounds have extremely unreliable ignition. Last month I killed a groundhog eating my vegetables with a .22 rifle. Pulled the trigger 8 times, had 3 successful discharges.

My base recommendation (if you can only have 1 firearm) is get a 9mm pistol with a rifle adapter. Basically, it's a barrel and a stock that the pistol fits into turning it into a rifle. The extra barrel length can make the 9mm more suitable for hunting (higher muzzle velocity) while the pistol is still great for defensive applications.

There were a few trying to talk me into single or 5oz rounds for liquidity and lower premiums.
I was trying to express it was a wash since I'm in a taxed state and since Scottsdale is one of the few that doesn't collect tax, I calculate that into my premium.
