This daily general is for XMR fans and supporters of the cypherpunk ideology to hang out and help anons learn about Monero - the most fungible cryptocurrency. A cypherpunk is any activist advocating widespread use of strong cryptography and privacy-enhancing technologies as a route to social and political change.
We believe that Monero is the logical continuation of Bitcoin because it offers superior privacy and scaling, leading the way to many potential use cases. CLSAG is coming by the end of the year. It's apparently similar to Bulletproofs, in that it is a scaling upgrade. Transactions sizes should decrease by about 25% and be more efficient. It is currently being audited. Next year, we should also have an update on the ring signatures (and therefore privacy) which keeps the transaction size the same but increases ring sig mix in sizes by at least tenfold (i've heard between 100-250). The Monero researach lab is still figuring out how exactly they are doing this, but there are multiple proposals.
On the community spectrum, there has been a ton of onboarding of new users who rely on Monero on the dark net. This is still in the early stages, but the transaction totals have gone up significantly this year.
