Finally ordered myself that AP chrono today. Will carrying 60k on my arm induce paranoia? I already have bad anxiety kek

If you can't afford to lose 60k you shouldn't have bought this watch anyway.

i can afford to lose, but it would suck.

Well if you're afraid of losing this money you will get anxious, there's no way around it. There is a difference between having the money to buy something and being able to afford something.

more worried about scratch marks desu. will just have to let go and enjoy it, been wanting one since I first made big money in 2017.

Nobody can afford to lose 60k lol

>>20492546
Get it insured at least.

>>20492724
ROs are absolute scratch magnets, gold ones doubly so.
Get a Grand Seiko; the same level of external finish for a fraction of the price.
Minus the iconic RO design though.

i think scratch marks make it personal. mint is overrated, as long as you dinged it up, it's unique to you

If you want investment value, you should generally stay away from things like precious metals and complications.

Basic steel sports Rolexes and Royal Oaks for instance gain value; precious metal models with complications not so much.
Unless the complication was there from the start, like the Paul Newmans.

>60k for an ugly watch

I'm not a watchfag but can still respect a beautiful watch. This one isnt though. Why does it have visible screws on top?
And this is 60 000 USD? If it said DIESEL on it and cost $300, you wouldnt even look twice at it

What I'm saying is you shouldnt worry about walking around with that watch, it doesn't seem like an expensive watch that would attract unwanted attention. Most people would be baffled if you revealed them the value of it

>> No.20493196

>>20493057
You have to look at the history.

The RO for instance was designed as a simple steel three hander.
And that's what made it so shocking at the time of its unveiling: it was steel and had no complications, yet cost MORE than complicated gold watches.
And that's how the RO helped save the Swiss mechanical watch industry from the quartz crisis: by transforming the very concept of a luxury watch.

If you want gold AND complications AND investment value, go for a Patek.

Imagine spending literal houses' worth on a Chronos spellbinding.
People get gifted watches in the business world and they're being spellbound. Even better when one cucks oneself!

It also harkens back to symbolism of our ancient gods, whatever they were, physical or not.
Watches for men, handbags for women: symbols of wealth which have to be top-tier
