So now that Mercatox was hacked, I guess the most relevant question is: How much did you lose?

About $30k for me. About 25% of my net worth. I was in the middle of buying into some smallcaps but the 0.5btc non-KYC limit meant that it was going to take a few more days to withdraw everything, and then this happened. I never kept any money there besides get in - trade - get out. Was caught in this at the worst possible time.

I'm going to assume I'll never see this money again, but I'll still report this to the police.

Any other anons in the same boat?

Yes it does. This indian shitting street of an exchange was always around ever since I started trading, and I figured the chances of something like this happening in the week-or-so that I was doing my precision in-trade-out operation was extremely slim, but I guess I hit the jackpot.

I was like this, but the shitcoin-du-jour I wanted to buy was not available on any large exchanges. Normally I keep everything on my ledger and use Uniswap for swapping ERC20s, but it wasn't a possibility here.

Interesting. Thanks anon. I'm starting to be about 30% hopeful that this is just system maintenance that's taking way longer than it was supposed to. It has spooked me the fuck out though, so I think my risk tolerance towards exchanges has gone way down due to this. CB, Kraken, Binance and non-custodial DEXs only from now on.
