Do yourself a flavor and read up on AVAX, you don't want to miss out.

>Emin Gün Sirer
Cornell CS Prof, same as Ari Juels, invented PoW in 2003
Been in crypto since the beginning, worked on Bitcoin, called out DAO hack before it happened, recognize the importance of Chainlink

>Avalanche protocol
The third consensus protocol after PoW, PoS. This is not repackaged shit with minimal tinkering here and there.
4500+ TPS, < 3 seconds finality, consensus reached by probablistically sampling thousands of independent nodes. Secure and decentralized.
Immune to 51% attack (need 80% network control to take over)

>Full EVM support
Literally eating Ethereum's cake. Low friction of adoption for projects developing on ETH. Athereum is a subnet of AVAX running EVM. ETH is a mess, ETH 2.0 will be a mess. This is the chance to bring smart contract to the next level.

AVAX post came out of nowhere because we all wanted to get in the ICO, now we've filled our bags and we want you to get in too. This is fucking huge

Emin Gün Sirer interview, I recommend listening to podcast that he's on too

+60M token ($30M) sold in 5.5 hours
took so long mostly due to queuing time

To be fair it is a difficult situation. Originally they planned to sell 0.97% of their tokens (now it's 10%) because they would rather give them to developers for ecosystem growth than used for speculation. They didn't realize the importance of diverse holders but eventually listened to community feedback.
The max. check limit and vesting period are all used to incentivize long term holding.

This is as good as it gets. You can't be a hyped project without people speculate the shit out of it. Just look at Ethereum, even Vitalik had said that he regretted giving early adopters too many tokens and not enough for long term development.

Imagine buying another layer 1 token right now.

You're basically betting that:
1. ETH's transactions fees and ETH2 delays will be enough to drive developers and users (liquidity) to a new layer 1 network and it's Uniswap/Compound/Synthetix copycats.

2. Those same devs and users won't go the established ETH competitors much further along in development like Tezos, Cosmos, Polkadot for their flavor of Uniswap/Compound/Synthetix copycats

3. Those same devs and users won't go the less established but highly-funded ETH competitors like Hedera, Algo, Cardano for their flavor of Uniswap/Compound/Synthetix copycats

You'ed have to be fucking retarded.

learn what it means by EVM support. Every Ethereum smart contract can run on Avalanche, Metamask and MEW work out of the box already.
